People want to be happy and healthy but in today’s society we are drawn to life style choices that create an amazing amount of stress and anxiety in our already hectic lives, so I made a life style choice – Yoga.
My name is Guy, I’m 57 years old and have lived in Tonbridge for the past 16 years with my wife and 22 year old daughter. I have had a successful career in The City of London spanning 31 years.
I took up yoga 16 years ago purely as a way of de-stressing from my extremely pressurised, long hours job and it really was a ‘light bulb’ moment. I have been addicted to yoga ever since. I have always enjoyed sport, playing representative hockey, athletics, football, club rugby, cricket and currently a member at Wrotham Heath Golf Club.
After four years of training I have completed and passed the highest award from the British Wheel of Yoga, achieving a BWYQ Level 4 Diploma in Teaching Yoga. I am fully insured by the British Wheel of Yoga and I am fully First Aid qualified to practice emergency first aid at work. My mentor was Janet Bond, Certificate in Education, BWY Foundation, and Level 4 Diploma Course Tutor, BWYT, Quality Assessor and Course Verifier. The best teacher in the British Wheel of Yoga.
Why try Yoga?
Yoga is non competitive and gives so much more than just physical exercise. It is cleansing for mind and teaches breathing techniques that can be applied in many stressful situations we find ourselves. Plus it makes you feel revitalised, toned, calm and happy.
The goal was always to quit The City before 50 to do something I’m very passionate about and my yoga teacher suggested to train as a yoga teacher myself and here I am.
I hope I can pass on my passion for yoga and its significant benefits.
